VALENCIA COLLEGE UNVEILS MULTI-MILLION NAIRA HOSTEL IN IBADAN

Valencia College Ibadan, on Friday unveiled its multi-million naira hostel facilities, in an event which took place within the compound of the newly built boarding house, situated behind Impact house, General Gas road, Akobo, Ibadan.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman and founder of Valencia college, Engr. Goodness Morakinyo appreciated God for the completion of the school hostel that can accommodate over 200 students with air conditioning facilities in each rooms while also thanked all the parents and guardians who have been cooperating with the school management.

He appreciated all the staffs and teacher who have shown commitment in imparting knowledge, doing their job with core competence and passion as they are building tomorrow’s nation asset.

The school’s boss while unveiling some of the facilities of the newly built hostel explained to the parents presents at the event that, there’s no controversy that Valencia College is incomparable in the Oyo State of today and “by God’s power, the school will continue to be the best and most desirable in Nigeria at large”.

The Chairman of the school’s governing board described the hostel as Home-Away-From-Home, while further stressing that all the facilities of the hostel are of topnotch qualities, “there’s a special room for the teachers who are going to be living with the students in the hostel en-suite with their personal toilet and kitchenette, also spacious hall that will serve a purpose of prep and for merry and dining”, he noted.

Stating further, “we have toilets and bathrooms for students, the hostel contained a special design inverter system that has the capacity to generate 24hrs uninterrupted power supply with a high voltage generator as a backup plan. Good health of our students is very paramount to us, all the water system within this vicinity, including the one running outside the hostel and anywhere within the compound is safe and well treated, even if student drink water outside their room, they are save, we have football field and sports facilities and open ground where they can play and merry”.

“We are aware of the evil people in the country and to that extend, we have to make a provision for very tight security and also requested for Mobile Policemen stationed within the school premises to be patrolling 24/7 for the safety of our students”, he enthused.

He added that the hostel is well structured in a way that, there cannot be any interference between male and female students, saying “we have tried as much as possible to put everything in place and as they will be moving in immediately, we can still see one or other things to work on depending on the issues or challenges they may be facing while in the hostel”.

The motives behind the hostel according to the proprietor is not just to house the students, but to provide conducive environment for academic learning.

Rev. Taiwo Iresemowo, who’s from Victoria Memorial Church dedicated the hostel to almighty God before cutting the ribbon and described the founder of the school as a great dreamer with a big vision and encourage him to continue as many people may be following his footstep and pray the Lord to lead him to greatness to achieve more success.

Mrs Morakinyo Victoria Oluranti who is the school administrator and doubles as the mother of the founder and a retired school principal with level grade 16 officer in 2011 thanked God for His faithfulness over the family and the school as a whole, she also described the school parents as being fantastic and appreciated them for their encouragements. “The CEO who’s my son is a man of quality and a very humble person, even as a mother, I learn from him every day”, Madam Morakinyo noted .

A parent, Mrs. Funbi Akinmejuwa who has three of her children (Precious, Diamond and Iremide) in the school for over a year said she got to know about the school through her friend who invited her for the school’s end of the year party of her children, and she was amazed and convinced enough to bring her children to Valencia college when saw the activities of that event and how parents are giving good recommendations about the school. “My children have improved in so many ways than before and am seeing the impact of this school in their lives, both academically, socially and morally”, she noted. She added that “the hostel is of the great quality facilities and properly structured.

Mrs. Funbi further advised the school management to look into accommodating little children in preposition classes at the ground floor and not the last floor as plans by the school management and more older children to be at the last floor for safety sake.
